Hands down, this would have to be one of my top five weddings. Big call I know, but this day had everything awesome you would want as a photographer…. and as a guest, it really was the perfect day.
When it comes to getting married, these amazing ladies knew that they had to travel to a country that not only embraces their love but also encourages same-sex couples to get hitched!
Because Australia is so behind the times when it comes to marriage equality there is a lot of lost opportunity when it comes to amazing weddings. Not only for the couples, family and friends, but for the overall economy and growth for the industry. However, the countries that support marriage equality benefit because they get to host awesome couples and their big day.
Shaz and Whit picked New Zealand because of its beautiful scenery and flew friends from around the world. From Scotland to the US and all over.
They declared their love on a cliff edge at the AMAZING location, Boomrock.
It was the windiest day I have ever experienced. The girls’ hair both blew out within the first two seconds of walking down the aisle but they didn’t care. They were so excited about getting married.
They ended up back in Melbourne to celebrate with their closest local friends and family at a place called “Showtime” on the Yarra River. With totally different surroundings in comparison to the beautiful countryside of NZ. This industrial and inner-city setting perfectly reflecting their Melbourne life.
