Supporting LGBTQIA+ Businesses and Allies

Welcome.

If you’ve landed on this page, chances are you’re looking for incredible LGBTQIA+ community vendors and allies to be part of your wedding.

Thank you.

Choosing to support queer-owned businesses and vendors who genuinely understand our community means a lot. Weddings are deeply personal, and working with people who truly “get it” can make the experience feel safer, more relaxed and more joyful.

My name is Loz (Lauren), and I’m proudly part of the queer community. I’m a documentary wedding photographer based on the Surf Coast but cover all over Melbourne, Victoria to the world, and I’ve been documenting weddings since 2008.

I don’t mind what gender you or your partner identify as. I’m all about love, kindness, fun, connection and people living their happiest lives.

Long before marriage equality was legal in Australia, I was documenting queer celebrations. In fact, my brother’s wedding to his husband was the first same-sex celebration I photographed.

My own wife and I married in Canada in 2012 because Australia didn’t recognise our marriage at the time. When we returned home, I threw myself even more deeply into documenting queer couples and families however they wanted to celebrate their love.

Around that time I had a 12-page feature published in Frankie Magazine, documenting three queer couples and their stories.

Over the years I’ve worked with hundreds of vendors. There are so many wonderful allies out there, but this blog is a small directory of vendors who are either part of the queer community themselves or who I know to be deeply supportive allies.

These are people I genuinely love working with.

Amazing queer celebrants

Dee Wild – Custom Celebrations

The incredible Dee Wild from Custom Celebrations brings warmth, humour and vibrant energy to every ceremony.

Dee is a Melbourne-based queer marriage celebrant who creates ceremonies that feel relaxed, meaningful and truly personal. A storyteller at heart, she works closely with couples to shape ceremonies that reflect who they are, rather than following traditions that don’t resonate.

She’s also a dressmaker, meaning she can tailor her colourful celebrant outfits to match the couple or vibe of the day.

Expect a ceremony full of heart, joy and personality.

Darren Sibson – I Do With Darren

Darren is a Melbourne-based celebrant known for his calm presence, big heart and natural storytelling.

His ceremonies are relaxed, warm and deeply personal. With just the right amount of humour and sincerity, Darren creates ceremonies that feel effortless and authentic.

Couples often say it feels less like a formal ceremony and more like having a trusted friend guiding them through one of the most meaningful moments of their lives.

Nevo Zisin – Celebrant

Nevo Zisin (they/them) is a Naarm-based authorised marriage celebrant, poet and storyteller.

Approaching weddings as a sacred collaboration, Nevo listens deeply to the everyday details that shape a relationship. They then craft a ceremony that feels thoughtful, heartfelt and genuinely reflective of the couple’s connection.

Their ceremonies feel intimate, poetic and grounded in authenticity.

Entertainment & Unique Experiences

Wedding Tattoos – Lee Stain

Want something completely unforgettable at your wedding?

Having tattoo artist Lee Stain tattoo (instagram) guests during the reception was next-level amazing at one of the weddings I photographed.

Guests could choose from a sheet of designs approved by the couple that matched the vibe of the wedding. People tipped the artist and donations went to a charity chosen by the couple.

It created such a fun atmosphere and gave guests a permanent reminder of the day.

Drag entertainer

Tequila Mockingbird – drag entertainer, MC and all-round legend.

Tequila Mockingbird brings energy, humour and unforgettable entertainment to weddings and events. As a performer, host and community personality, they know how to keep a crowd engaged and a celebration flowing.

If you want something vibrant and joy-filled for your reception, Tequila is a brilliant choice.

Delicious food

Happy Camper Pizza

Happy Camper Pizza is a Melbourne food truck catering company founded by Sonia Lear and Remi Pham.

Starting with a single vintage Airstream caravan in 2013, they’ve grown into a fleet of beautifully restored food trucks serving wood-fired pizza at weddings and events across Victoria.

Final Thoughts

There are so many incredible vendors out there who support queer couples.

This is simply a small list of people I’ve personally worked with and trust to create safe, welcoming spaces for LGBTQIA+ celebrations.

If you’re planning your wedding and looking for someone to document it honestly and gently, I’d love to hear your story.

Because at the end of the day, your wedding should feel like you.
