The follow up…
I documented this adorable little family in a ‘Loved-Up shoot’ over a year ago (you can see their story HERE).
Fortunately, they invited me back to document a typical morning in the ‘Ferg’ household. I arrived at 6.30am just in time for the morning snuggle with both bubbas. Owen wasn’t sold on me invading this precious time with his family.
Most people wouldn’t think that such a simple, mundane event could be so interesting. But this is real…. This is what is happening today and it’s these moments that will be cherished in years to come.
Here are words from the Ferg’s….
“Loz photographed our family back when our son, Owen, was 10 days old and we adored the results. Any parent can attest to how treasured family photos really are, especially when your kids are little and they change so much so quickly. And especially when the photos are professional, high quality, and beautiful. We were due for an update and unsurprisingly once again, the results are just brilliant! Why would any parent not want this sort of thing for their own family?! It’s priceless stuff. And that’s how we feel now after just having done it.”
Imagine the value of these images to our family in five, 10, 20, 50 years time when everyone has grown and aged and the memories in our minds are less vivid.
The casual and documentary-style Loz shoots in is perfect for capturing the little details, the in-between moments, the essence of what family and love is. And, particularly for me as the full-time parent, I see this loved-up session as a treat; a reward for my work if you will! Parenting is absolutely amazing and fulfilling in so many ways. It’s also one of the hardest and most tedious jobs at times. So, organising Loz to come and record our family as we are now is a way of preserving this time in our lives: the joy, the laughter, the daily goings-on, the tantrums, the tears, the works. It means that on the long days, the ‘bad’ days, the days that sometimes just blend in to the next, we have these beautiful images and memories to hold on to to remind us of the good times that will inevitably follow and ultimately far outweigh the ‘bad.’ Thank you Loz for documenting our family so patiently and so perfectly. Like I said, priceless stuff!”
LJM – …… What can I say…. Well done! These photo’s are MAGIC! X
