A Colourful Alowyn Gardens Wedding in Yarra Valley – Ash & Tess

A Wedding Set Among the Gardens

With the stunning backdrop of Alowyn Gardens in Yarra Glen, Ash and Tess’ wedding felt like it unfolded exactly as it should. Calm, joyful, and full of those moments you can’t plan but always remember.

From the very beginning, there was this quiet anticipation. Their first look wasn’t just between the two of them, it extended to their families too. Watching their parents see them for the first time carried just as much weight. There was so much love in those glances. The kind that sits a little deeper.

Colour and everything in-between

Ash and Tess brought a sense of fun into every part of the day. It wasn’t forced, it just existed naturally around them.

Tess’ mum even made handmade rainbow face masks for guests, which felt like such a beautiful reflection of care, creativity, and the times we’ve all moved through.

Although they both wore white gowns, the day was anything but minimal. In fact, it was the opposite. They leaned into colour at every opportunity. From creating their own bouquets and floral arrangements to the small details woven throughout the space, everything felt intentional and personal.

A Rainbow Moment You Can’t Plan

One of those completely unplanned moments happened just after the ceremony. As we stepped into their post-ceremony portraits, a rainbow appeared in the sky behind them.

It was brief, but it felt like everything paused for a second. One of those moments you don’t direct, you just witness.

A Reception Full of Energy and Surprises

As the reception began, the energy shifted in the best way. Ash and Tess surprised everyone with a quick outfit change, which brought a fresh burst of excitement into the room.

From there, the night unfolded with incredible food by Happy Camper Pizza, heartfelt and hilarious speeches, and a dance floor that didn’t hold back.

Why the Yarra Valley is Perfect for Weddings

The Yarra Valley always delivers something special. There’s a softness to the landscape, especially around Alowyn Gardens, that gives space for moments to breathe.

It allows me to step back, observe, and document things as they naturally unfold.

A Final Note

Ash and Tess, thank you for trusting me to capture your day. It was such a joy to be part of it.

This is how I saw it.
