I don’t like using the words, “lesbian wedding”. Because to me marriage between two people that love each other is simply “marriage” and the ceremony in which they conduct their vows is simply a “wedding”.
But in this technology age I am loathe to admit that using such terms is required in order to help other like-minded women in love find photographers that do document a lesbian wedding without judgement….after all, a lesbian wedding, hetero wedding, gay wedding, trans wedding is, as I’ve already stated, a wedding.
Words from Steph….
“We wanted the vibe of our wedding to be relaxed, but also a reflection of both of us. A mix of bold floral colours with vintage and DIY touches.
A few weeks out from the wedding we found out that all of the special people we had hired to be a part of our day, photographer, videographer, celebrant and florists all knew each other in some way or another. It was incredible that we had unintentionally surrounded ourselves with like minded people who all shared our vision for our day. It was at this point that we knew our day was in the best hands possible in all respects.
On the day….
On the day, my (Steph) favourite moment was seeing Claire for the first time. She looked more beautiful than I could have ever imagined and I was so blown away. The pride on our parents faces and having all of our family stand up around us during the ceremony as the ‘giving away’ was also extremely special. Our mums stood there and held hands. It was beautiful. The whole mood of the day, the joy, the love and unconditional support being so openly given was something that I have never experienced before and I just couldn’t believe how perfect it was”.
Here is how I saw their day, ENJOY!!
