Over the weekend I did an editorial shoot for a cool little Hair studio in West Geelong called ‘HIDDEN MINX’….
I was commissioned by the salon owners /creative directors, Emma Vandermark and Hannah Boyd. When consulted about their vision of the shoot the brief I received was, “Do whatever you want!”
As daunting as that is (for you want to ensure you are on the same page as the client and I never want to disappoint) it was also pretty freakin’ fun and exciting. So my concept behind the shoot was to capture the funky area (in Melbourne terms, it’s the Brunswick St of Geelong), then document the day as it unfolded.
The girls (Emma & Hannah) have a great energy and worked really well as a team and to me that is just as important as the actual hair styles. We then went out and played. I had a total ball working on this shoot which I think is reflected in the imagery.
