Live abroad but love Fitzroy. Decide to do a Fitzroy wedding on short notice. Too easy….

Michelle and Shannon live abroad but own a house in one of their favourite suburbs, Fitzroy. The perfect backdrop for their pre ceremony preparations.

Michelle grew up within the indigenous community in WA and wanted to incorporate her upbringing throughout their wedding. Look out for their stunning Aboriginal artwork.

Family and friends held stones and were asked to put their positive energy/love into them – a beautiful sentiment. The ceremony took place in the Botanical Gardens (another favourite place of theirs). Amongst the greenery they said, “I DO!” before a creative shoot. Highlights include Michelle’s dolphin fountain and Shannon’s duck pond. And a tree stump : )

From there we headed back towards Fitzroy’s urban grittiness for a quick wardrobe change and some skateboarding. Or is it called longboarding when it’s a longboard? Whatever it’s called, I captured a bride on a longboard on her wedding day! IN HEELS! Have I mentioned how much I LOVE my job?

The reception took place at the Builder’s Arms where Michelle and Shannon’s dance moves were outperformed by Michelle’s niece and nephew in a dance off. The perfect end to a perfect day.

This is how I saw their day – ENJOY!
