A same-sex family portrait shoot (Loved Up, style!) looks exactly like you’d expect…. a family portrait shoot (just with same-sex parents)
As a photographer I know the importance of capturing moments. Moments that can never be repeated. Moments that document who you are. That tell your story.
Which is why it’s so nice when clients truly understand the importance of documentary photography. About documenting people, places and things that are quintessentially you, right now.
The JAHMS are just such clients (now friends).
I first met “THE JAMS” (Juno, Anna, Sacha and Mabel) in 2012 after they won a “Loved Up Shoot” competition I’d been advertising.
5 years on and I’m back documenting their lives again.
The kids have grown, there’s a “new” addition to the family and they now cruise around on wicked sets of wheels.
But their love for each other, fun times, cool knick knacks and books remains the same.
JAHMS (now with an H), here’s your family circa 2017! Hope you enjoy!

We met Loz more than 5 years ago when we won a ‘loved up’ shoot with her. We asked her to come back and do a re-do session. I loathe being photographed (but love family photos) and the kids were feeling pretty self conscious. Loz has an uncanny talent of changing the mood, making you (almost) forget about the camera and actually interact with each other, while simultaneously taking photographs that capture the essence of family life, love, our style. Her photos are some of our most precious possessions and the photo shoots have always ended up being lovely memories.
