Where better to document a destination wedding than NEW YORK CITY!?….
I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Eszter and Michael for the first time in their hometown of Melbourne. They had received one of my “Loved Up” sessions as a parting gift before their New York adventure began.
A Loved Up session in New York City, USA, followed.
So you could imagine my excitement when I was asked to document their wedding IN NEW YORK CITY!
Highlights of the day….
The boys started off their day at the famous Chelsea Piers driving range for a spot of golf. Because there’s nothing better than getting in the right mood for your wedding than a spot of golf. ALTHOUGH a “clean, close shave” at an old school barber shop would be a definite contender ; )
The girls spent their morning at a rooftop Airbnb apartment with views of the gorgeous New York skyline. Two of Eszter’s bridesmaids were previous clients which added to the fun familiarity of the day.
We then headed to the gorgeous Central Park where Eszter and Michael had their reveal, “first look”. One word, ADORABLE! Before heading to the East River where a boat would be our ceremony and reception location.
Words can’t describe how it felt cruising past the Statue of Liberty and then anchoring between the Manhatten and Brooklyn Bridge for the ceremony. Hearing the subway trains rattle by as the ceremony was underway was a surreal experience. And the ceremony itself – emotional and beautiful.
As the reception kicked into high gear we continued to cruise along the river watching the New York City skyline change colour from dusk to nightfall.
Words can’t explain how honoured and privileged I felt to be flown halfway round the world to document this gorgeous couples’ wedding. This is why I LOVE destination weddings.
This is how I saw their day. I hope you ENJOY!
